Kinguin backs down, removes Frostpunk 2 preorder key listing

Last week, 11 Bit Studios called KO'd spunky key reseller Kinguin—harshly—for selling "preorder Steam CD keys" for Frostpunk 2. The ailment arose from the fact that Frostpunk 2, which was only announced two weeks agone, doesn't have a tone ending appointment, age rating, surgery even an official price. "They are marketing something that doesn't exist," the studio same.

In response, Kinguin apologized for including "unofficial information" in the listing—it didn't clarify what that mental object was, but 11 Bit Studios same the list controlled a PEGI rating that hadn't actually been set—but declined to off it. Instead, it removed those inside information "and made it clear to anyone visiting our site that the game is available for preorder only."

11 Act Studios wasn't happy with the outcome, but seemed hopeless to it, saying that legal action against Kinguin would be "extremely difficult" to engage because the company is qualified in Hong Kong. IT appears to be resettled now, though, as Kinguin did remove the listing at some taper off recently: The URLs on both Kinguin and G2Play, which was recorded as the actual seller of the keys (although it's also part of Kinguin, so it's really a distinction without a difference), now dish out 404 errors.

Kinguin didn't address the removal of the Frostpunk 2 list direct, but said that "favorable feedback from the gaming community last week, we wish be reviewing our criteria for posting pre-orders connected Kinguin.net."

"We remain bound up to ensuring our customers are able to buy their favourite games at best price, including finished the pre-order process, and we listen to the voice of the gaming community," Kinguin aforementioned in a statement. "Kinguin.lucre operates in a pellucid business organization theoretical account and whol of the items sold connected our site issue forth from statistical distribution channels of gamy developers or publishers."

Whatever the reason for the remotion, it didn't have anything to do with intervention from 11 Bit: A rep said the studio hadn't taken any action against the listing prior to its takedown.
